Raised on a farm in the Midwest, Don Bacon learned the value of hard work and fiscal responsibility at a young age. After working his way through college Don joined the United States Air Force, where he would spend the next 30 years. During his military career, Don focused on intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance. He deployed four times and had five commands, including at Offutt AFB. After his penultimate assignment directing ISR Strategy, Plans, Doctrine, and Force Development for the Air Force at the Pentagon, he retired as a brigadier general.
Don knew he had more to offer his country and felt called to run for Congress, where he could continue to defend the Constitution and stand up for conservative ideals. In 2016, he became the only Republican in America to defeat an incumbent Congressional Democrat. He was re-elected to a second term representing Nebraska’s Second District in 2018.
Don has been married to his college sweetheart Angie for 35years. They have four children and five grandchildren and live in Papillion, NE.
