HCF Announces it's first round of endorsements for the 2010 election

From the official Release:

The 10 endorsed candidates will receive $5,000 from the political action committee, according to its honorary chairman, Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-N.C.).

“We are trying to get conservative Republicans elected who won’t vote for tax increases, who are pro-growth and who are pro-family,” McHenry said.

Candidates who will receive contributions from the PAC are: Stephen Fincher in Tennessee’s 8th district, Sam Caligiuri in Connecticut’s 5th district, Sean Duffy in Wisconsin’s 7th district, Andy Harris in Maryland’s 1st district, Joe Heck in Nevada’s 3rd district, Jim Renacci in Ohio’s 16th district, Martha Roby in Alabama’s 2nd district, Vaughn Ward in Idaho’s 1st district, and former Reps. Steve Chabot (Ohio) and Steve Pearce (N.M.), who are running to reclaim their old seats.

McHenry said he intentionally chose to endorse a geographically diverse group of candidates, nine of whom are vying for seats held by a Democratic incumbent. Fincher is the only endorsed candidate that is running for an open seat. He is seeking to replace retiring Rep. John Tanner (D).

“These people are hardcore conservatives that can win both the primary and the general election,” McHenry said.

Pelosi, Rangel, Massa and the (New & Improved!) Culture of Corruption

"Today the American people voted for change, and they voted for Democrats to take our country in a new direction. [...] The American people voted to restore integrity and honesty in Washington, D.C., and the Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history."
-Nancy Pelosi, November 2006

Since taking control of the House in 2006, the Democrats have embarked on a disastrous series of initiatives to undermine our economy and security. Perhaps one of the great symbols of the Democrats total failure to honor their supposed mandate is the nagging ethics issues that have been coming to a head this week. As recently as last Friday Pelosi still claimed to be running the "most ethical and honest Congress in history," while refusing to take any action towards powerful House Ways and Means Chairman Charles Rangel (D.-N.Y.)

Here is Nancy Pelosi delivering the 'money quote.' Better put your coffee down, listen to the first 10 seconds:

Video not loading? Watch here

You may remember Rep. Rangel from some of his previous scandals involving abuse of rent-controlled apartments in New York, or failing to pay taxes on hundreds of thousands of dollars in income from a villa he owns in the Dominican Republic. This time he's in hot water over failing to disclose that Caribbean junkets he attended in 2007 and 2008 were subsidized by corporations. Rangel, still under investigation on the first 2 counts, chose to step down 'temporarily' from his chairmanship earlier this week. Presumably he made this decision on his own, as the house leadership has still taken no action against him.

Following closely on the heels of the Rangel mess Rep. Eric Massa announced on Wednesday that he will not be seeking reelection in the fall, making vague references to his health and doctors advice to slow down. Reports today however suggest that the real reason may be allegations that the New York Democrat has also been referred to the House Ethics committee for allegations that he made unwelcome advances towards a young male staffer. The Democratic Leader of the House, Steny Hoyer, confirmed that he has been aware of the allegations since early February.

How will the Democrat-controlled house handle these new allegations? If history is any guide- poorly. In fact, as of early January, not a single member of congress has been punished by the Democrats three year-old "Drain the Swamp" smokescreen.

Not one.

A "Hollow PR Blitz"

Politico covered a statement put out by Rep Tom Price, Chairman of the Republican Study Committee, on Obama's proposed Health Care Summit. The bottom line? Unless he is willing to throw out the current bloated bills and start over, the whole thing is a charade.

SOTUS: The People’s View Doesn’t Register With Obama

Despite the clear message that Americans sent to Washington through the election outcomes in Massachusetts, Virginia, and New Jersey, President Obama is still pushing forward with “ObamaCare” and other big government ideas.

When he wasn’t blaming President Bush for current problems, Obama argued that health care reform is too “complex” for the average citizen to understand. By failing to acknowledge that Americans just don’t want "Obamacare", it just exemplifies the President’s arrogant attitude toward governing. He implies that the American people are too stupid to understand his health care bill. We do understand the bill, and we don’t like it.

Friends, now is the time to stop such a destructive bill. The election of Republican Scott Brown in Massachusetts doesn’t mean this battle is over. It was obvious in the SOTUS last night that Obama is unyielding when it comes to his socialist healthcare reform. We must continue to fight Obama and the liberals in Congress and defeat them now!

Massachusetts has spoken for Brown, against Obama & Company

Last night the people of Massachusetts spoke.   Voters have made it crystal clear that they want to end health care takeover now.

The magnitude of Scott Brown's victory is truly historic. Before Brown’s victory no Republican Senatorial candidate in Massachusetts had won since 1972. Most thought it would be an easy win for Democrat candidate, Martha Coakley, since the special election was held to fill late Ted Kennedy’s seat.

Make no mistake, this loss was an embarrassment for the White House. It also is an indication of political problems for the Democrats this fall when House, Senate, and gubernatorial candidates are on the ballot nationwide. However, the health care battle is far from over!

Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Reid are already considering trying to jam the health care takeover through before Senator-elect Brown can be seated.  We've got to keep the pressure on the Senate and House.

Reid, Pelosi, and Obama want us to believe their health care takeover is "inevitable."Â You and I know better than that!Â

More "Green Jobs" in the wake of a disastrous 2009?

The month of December saw more jobs cut than anticipated. Many economists were optimistic that Friday's report would show the economy had gained jobs for the first time in two years; however, they were disappointed to find that the unemployment rate is holding steady 10 percent.

The report proves 2009 to be a disastrous year for U.S. workers. With nearly 15.3 million people unemployed, it only furthers the idea that Main Street doesn't believe the economy is on the road to recovery. Labor Secretary, Hilda Solis told the Associated Press, "The economy is in a rough situation, companies are reluctant to ramp up hiring because they're waiting to see what new simulative steps the government might take to provide relief."

Just when Americans think it can't get any worse, President Obama plans to announce more government spending to create "green jobs." The plan calls for more wind and solar power development which is part of $787 billion economic stimulus package passed last year.

Is this what American workers want to hear as unemployment numbers grow higher each month? The labor force needs real jobs now – not a political promise that only excites environmentalists

Economy loses 85K jobs as employers remain wary --AP

Conservative Luminary Morton Blackwell Touts Mission of House Conservatives Fund

Morton Blackwell posted an excellent article last night on Redstate.com. We strongly encourage that you take a few minutes of your day to read it.

In his article, he states that Republicans and the Republican Party should have "two fundamental objectives." The first is to "nominate and elect to public office a greater number of principled conservative Republicans." And the second is to "advance a greater number of principled conservatives to positions of Republican Party leadership at the local, state, and national levels."

Blackwell then goes on to lay out a 14 step plan to achieve these objectives. Read all 14 objectives by visiting the full and complete article on RedState.com.

Here at House Conservatives Fund, we are thrilled that Mr. Blackwell chose to highlight the excellent work our own PAC is doing. Specifically, Blackwell names House Conservatives Fund as one of the few groups that is truly willing to fight for all 14 of his stated objectives.

If you agree with all of Blackwell's 14 points and want to be a part of House Conservatives Fund's efforts to bring a Conservative majority back to Congress, join our Victory 2010 team today!

Dems Try to Sneak Amnesty

While the nation keeps its focus on the current ObamaCare debate in Washington, the House Democrats sought quietly to introduce a proposal that would give amnesty and eventual citizenship to the estimated 12 million non-citizens that have entered our country illegally. Please sign our petition to register your opposition and to let it be known — in no uncertain terms — that you do not support this proposal.

Rep. Tom Price on TARP Extension

Rep. Tom Price issued a strongly-worded statement this morning in regards to the Obama administration’s decision to extend the $700 billion TARP slush fund until October 2010. Rep. Price stated:

"The $700 billion bailout was taken from taxpayers last year as a loan, and it’s time the government makes good on its debt. The Obama administration’s decision to keep this slush fund in operation shows just how little attention they’re paying to the American public. The American people don’t want to use TARP to take over another car company, bailout another bank, or finance another failed ‘stimulus’ package. They just want their $700 billion back. The TARP has distorted our markets, delayed our recovery, and disfigured our basic economic system. Its permanent termination would do great help to provide the stability that our markets desperately need. With the Democrats’ track record of spending, I fear that if we cannot bring TARP to a close now, this administration may never be willing to let it go."

Dems Vote to Allow Federal Funding to Continue for ACORN

If you read any of the "mainstream" media's analysis of the defunding ACORN vote back in September, you were probably under the impression that ACORN no longer receives one red cent of Federal taxpayer dollars. Simply put... nothing could be further from the truth.

As we first brought to your attention when we launched our "End Federal Funds to ACORN" Petition, there is a glaring loophole that allows for taxpayer dollars to continue funding ACORN and its subsidiaries. Andrew Breitbart's "Big Government" blog just put an excellent post up on how the Dems are moving rapidly to restore ACORN's funding. We encourage you to check out the article here.

Once you've done that, please sign our ACORN petition which will let Members of Congress know -- in no uncertain terms -- that the American people will not stand for any tax dollars going to this corrupt organization.
